Reminiscence of childhood

“Being a kid was much more fun than being an adult. Life was sweeter then.” - Trevor Carss

Lost in my thoughts in a summer night with all the pleasant memories of childhood. Oh my Gosh, what an amazing phase of life it was! Life was such a simple thing. A small bar of chocolate or a comic book was enough to make us happy.

Life had a different meaning then. Monsoon meant getting wet along with friends in the rain, and hurriedly making paper boats to play. Evening were equally happy; playing hide and seek with friends from the society and dancing with them.

The silent night took me on a tour to the almost forgotten memories. The world of innocence, colorful birthday parties, school sports week, summer vacations, fancy dress competitions, exams, boring social gatherings, so on and so forth.

I remembered fighting with my brother over "Tinkle" and would settle down only if he would read it out to me. The fights with him over small things. The moments when he would come forward to defend me from my mom's scoldings. What an awesome time it was!

Childhood is that phase when we want to grow up quickly thinking adulthood is better only to realize that we would miss the best time of our lives. The small curious mind that would always pay attention to the trees that moved along with us during the train journey. When stomach ache was the common excuse for not going to school but when, mom insisted on taking to a doctor, out in fear we would immediately feel better. Such a beautiful time it was, that we still cherish it and keep it close to our hearts.
